Job Description

Role Description:
The role has responsibility for developing our end to end workflows including configuring the APIs to both our Platform and AI OCR reader.
They will work with our Workflow analysts to develop the required workflows on our workflow solution, ensuring that the developed workflows are using best practice and can be reused globally. In this role you will also be responsible for the deployment and support of the workflows that you develop.
The developer needs to be able to translate the epics and user stories into workable workflows and have the technical capability to create forms within the application, that may be populated manually or automatically by our AI OCR and have these interact with our Platform using API’s.
The goal of the team is to have the workflow team replacing manual processes with automated workflow managed processes.
The developer is required to work closely with analysts who provide the oversight and clarity on the development solution.
The workflow developer ideally will have a broad knowledge of operational processes and best practices for the implementation workflows. They will work on a consultative basis to design, code and implement complex workflows.
Specific Role Responsibilities:
Developer:
  • Provide guidance with process design.
  • Design, develop, and test automation workflows.
  • Deployment process components
  • Support the launch and implementation of workflow solutions.
  • Ongoing support of the workflows
  • Create process and end-user documentation.
  • Assure the quality of the automation (QA processes).
  • Work with Business Analysts, Scrum Masters, QA Analysts, Product Owners, and other cross-functional resources to define and deliver business impacting projects.
  • Work directly with stakeholders to capture business requirements and translate them into technical approaches and designs that can be implemented.
  • Collaborate with development team members to ensure proper implementation and integration of the solutions.
  • Support deployments or troubleshoot production issues outside of work hours and participate in an on-call rotation as-needed.
  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies and business processes.
  • Design and integration with API’s
  • Defining solutions with our AI to develop our AI OCR reading capabilities
  • Designing and building complex workflows on our workflow management tool
  • Translating epics and stories into workflows
  • Develop and maintain a deep knowledge of the our platform functionality and business processes.
  • Understanding the features that make up the solution from the end user perspective, ensuring these are documented accurately.
  • Produce Systems artefacts as per FNZ SDLC.
  • Identify and document any non-functional requirements related to the functionality.
  • Provide guidance and clarity to technical resources around the business requirements and user stories.
  • Support the management of defects and associated root cause analysis.
  • Functionally review build artefacts for the function area assigned.
  • Interact with FNZ S&S and Investment Operations functions, as required, throughout the lifecycle and post-implementation.
  • Assist with user acceptance testing if required.
Collaboration / Communication:
  • Provide regular updates to the Delivery Manager on progress to plan as well as key risk and issues.
  • Provide timely estimates to the Delivery Manager.
  • Provide status updates on request.
  • Work with the test teams.
  • Ensure that testing issues/ solutions are called out appropriately to the testing community, and where there are obvious process improvements promote to the broader FNZ teams and client engagement teams.
  • Collaborate with other analysts to share knowledge, best practices, useful technology, and opportunities for cross-project solutions.
  • Maintain high standards regarding written and verbal communications to ensure that information is clearly and concisely documented and appropriately disseminated.
Technology:
  • Keep up to date with the latest and/or relevant technologies, tools and methods. Identify adoption of processes, technology and tools best suited to FNZ.
  • Proactively identify technical (environmental, coding and testing) issues may impede test progress to enable early resolution of said technical issues.
Experience required:
Preferred Industry Knowledge
  • Working knowledge of relevant methodology and tools e.g., Process modelling tools and methodologies, project, management methodologies - Waterfall, Agile etc.
  • Advanced analytical skills
  • General investment/wealth/life and/or pensions products and the markets in which FNZ and our customers operate.
  • An understanding of the regulatory environment FNZ operate within.
  • 3+ years of experience in technology delivery in the financial services/wealth market.
Required Knowledge & Skills:
  • 1st class degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years’ experience with developing workflows on Workflow tools K2, IBM BPM, Tibco etc.
  • Able to design technical specification documents for Workflow projects.
  • Experience developing and consuming APIs
  • Experience with Agile development methodology and Devops.
  • Experience with Databases (SQL or NoSQL).
  • Understanding of workflow-based logic.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Superior time and project management skills.
  • Ability to present technical details to non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent problem solving/analytical skills and complex troubleshooting methods.
  • Ability to work through ambiguous situations.
  • Experience working within an analysis or testing role previously.
  • Confident, and able to take initiative given client– and delivery-focused environment.
  • Independent, self-directing and delivery focused working style.
  • Superior analytical thinking.
  • Excellent organisational, administration and time management skills.
  • Good team communication skills, confident in dealing with internal and external clients.
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills.
Preferred Knowledge & Skills
  • Some basic programming knowledge on HTML, JavaScript (or any scripting language).
  • Experience with Microsoft .NET and C#
  • Knowledge and experience with testing Rest API
  • Cloud experience highly advantageous
  • Knowledge of artificial intelligence and machine learning preferable
