Encore Personnel is looking for experienced Warehouse Supervisor , to join our clients distribution centre based in Hams Hall - Birmingham on Part Time basis ( weekends only )
Role
Supervise the Warehouse Operation with direct responsibility for a team of people.
Supervise all resource requirements (to include, but not limited to people, machinery, systems) within allocated department.
Meet or exceed Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) on a continuous basis as set by the Operations Management team, and in line with Company and Client requirements.
Develop and maintain effective communication across all teams and/or shifts within the Warehouse Operation.
Train and continuously develop all operatives within the team to ensure a proficient, milt-skilled workforce.
Monitor and improve warehouse processes and procedures where applicable to ensure best practice and quality.
Key Responsibilities
To adhere to all H&S responsibilities
To actively contribute and support the 6s and Six Sigma initiative to ensure the working environment is clean, tidy, and safe.
Plan the operation to meet all internal and external KPIs, in order to ensure client expectations are met.
Supervise allocated department(s) ensuring business needs are achieved.
Produce reports for Operations/Shift Managers as required and ensure effective handover between shifts.
Provide effective communication within the operation relating to operational issues as required.
Continually review processes and systems to ensure operational needs are achieved at all times and quality maximised.
Ensure the team within the Warehouse operation have the required skills, knowledge, and resources to achieve and maintain business requirements.
Plan, co-ordinate and continually monitor training and training requirements.
Set targets and goals as agreed in conjunction with Operations Management Team for area of responsibility and continually monitor and review performance.
Manage development and performance of team.
To carry out Performance Management interviews/processes as required
Supervise and assist in projects as required by Operations Management team.
Provide Quality Control checking ensuring that Quality is paramount throughout the operation.
Housekeeping - provide and ensure best practice by continually monitoring the operational areas.
Ensure HR policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
Continuously monitor all elements of the operations administrative function to ensure best practice is followed at all times.
Ensure sufficient cover always exists within all areas of responsibility.
Plan shifts to ensure delivery of all activities.
Create training plans for team.
Ensure that administrative staff are trained to process all actions correctly, and QA procedures are in place.
Maintain and update department processes on a regular basis (but at least annually) and communicate and record any changes to staff.
Ensure all training records are kept up to date and fully signed off as and when required.
Liaise with shift and departmental supervisors inside other on-site activities to ensure sufficient support is provided when required.
To be flexible in attitude and approach with the ability to work within any of the Warehouse functions and departments.
Any other duties as deemed appropriate and within the capability of the role of Supervisor.
Such other duties as may from time to time be reasonably required.
Shift times :
Saturday & Sunday 8am - 4.30pm - weekends only !
Rate of pay :
£13.75 per hour
