Creative Assembly is looking for an experienced Senior Environment Artist to join our historical Total War team based at our studio in Horsham, in the heart of West Sussex.
In this exciting role, the successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation and creation of battles maps for Total War. Working alongside the Game Designers, Art Leads and Development Managers, you will help to ensure the implementation and delivery of battle maps, their set dressing, and models.

Key Responsibilities
You will be key in developing the battle maps and battle assets, using industry standard art tools and our own in-house tools and pipelines.
On a day-to-day basis, you will:

Create beautiful 3D art using tools to produce 3D meshes, textures and materials that are to an industry leading standard

Create high-quality environments and assets

Work closely with the Art Directors and Leads to aid development of a strong visual direction for battle maps

Work with multiple teams to develop efficient workflows and pipelines for asset creation

Have a strong focus on quality and risks throughout the fast delivery cycle

Have ownership and be responsible for whole environments

Use gameplay design to take environments from a grey box to final production quality

Work closely with Technical Artists and rendering teams to ensure high performance on high and low rigs.
Knowledge, Skill and Experience
Essential
-
Demonstrated visual flare and artistic talent

Skill in 3ds Max/Maya/ZBrush/Photoshop/Substance Painter

Industry experience in creating quality 3D environments and other assets

Knowledge of games development pipeline/environment/engines
-
Self-motivated approach to work

Excellent communication skills, both written and verbally, complemented by a positive can-do attitude

Experience working effectively in a team

Passion and ability to drive realistic visually appealing environments

Proven experience implementing game environments.
