The South East Unit includes 870 bridges and structures including the iconic Queensferry Crossing and Forth Road Bridge, as well as other major bridges such as the Kincardine Bridge and Clackmannanshire Bridge. Trunk roads in the South East serve as a vital link for Scotland’s economy, ensuring thousands of daily journeys and deliveries are carried out safely.
The Rigger, reporting into the maintenance supervisor, Will carry out cyclic maintenance, access installation/operation as part of a comprehensive maintenance team. The role is of a craft nature and as such the post holder should be time served or appropriately qualified tradesperson from an engineering discipline.
This is a full-time role.
Role includes:
- Carry out cyclic maintenance tasks within own team.
- Carry out installation of bridge access systems – cradles, underdeck platforms.
- Operation of underdeck access gantries.
- Rescue Team participation.
- Adhere to Health & Safety legislation.
- Assist other trades as required.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Current experience/qualification in a relevant discipline, typically SVQ 3 as a minimum.
- Must be able to work to strict deadlines.
- Must be able to work as part of composite team as required,
- Work at height.
- Confined Space
- A full approved UK driving licence.
