Our Recycling Department is responsible for the collection of household recycling within the Bath & North East Somerset Council area.
As a Recycling Collections Operative, you will be lifting and emptying waste containers, including, food caddy’s, card sacks and recycling boxes into our recycling vehicles.
Our recycling department is made up of several operational roles and we are keen to encourage training and development. We have a number of development opportunities including career progression from loader to driver role with paid driver training
HOURS OF WORK
Core hours are an 8 hour shift between 6am and 7pm Monday to Friday with 30 minutes unpaid for lunch each day
All bank holidays are to be worked except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day. Bank Holidays worked will be paid at time and half and with a day off in lieu.
Catch up Saturdays are to be worked for the 3 Saturdays following the Christmas bank holidays. This is a requirement of the service; it is not voluntary, and all Waste Collections Operational Staff will be rostered to undertake the work.
In exceptional circumstances such as extreme weather, or when work remains uncompleted due to unforeseen circumstances you could also be required to work weekends.
