As a Photo Editor, you will help implement and interpret the Selfridges creative vision through the styling and quality of online shoots, ensuring that all imagery is on brand. With an understanding and ability to maintain best practices, not only to achieve very high standards of styling and imagery but also to maintain agreed efficiencies within the studios.
- Draw inspiration from a variety of fashion media to influence imagery ideas and Editorial franchise shoots
- Maintain key relationships with the wider business to ensure brands are represented correctly for optimum customer experience
- Ensure excellent knowledge of the Selfridges Style Guides in order to maintain visual quality and consistency across all images taken for the website
- Provide hands-on image sourcing and editing, including colour correction and retouching using Adobe Photoshop where necessary
- Be responsible for liaising with Selfridges trade, buying, styling, and social teams to coordinate content requirements across all Selfridges owned and operated platforms
- Participate in creative brainstorms, be a source of inspiration by bringing new ideas and concepts to Selfridges
- Manage the creative studios photographic library corresponding the buy (mix of campaign, look book, backstage and still life)
- Coordinate with the fashion direction, editorial, buying and CRM teams to identify image needs.
- Manage, source and create the weekly site refresh workflow for Selfridges Editorial content
- Deliver compelling global weekly content, developing original and fresh ideas that are inspirational, directional and that engage the Selfridges audience
- Experienced. You will have experience as a Photo Editor. With strong photo editing skills and an excellent portfolio. You have strong fashion and styling sense, with the ability to incorporate new fashion trends. You may also have Editorial experience but it’s not essential
- Knowledgeable. You have extensive knowledge of designers, brands and runway looks and what trends are happening each season.
- Skilled. You have thorough knowledge of digital technology and photo editing software packages (e.g. Photoshop, Pixlr and Affinity Photo). Combined with a creative mind and an eye for detail and storytelling skills
- Proactive and organised. Proven ability to work to tight deadlines and an exceptional eye for detail. Time-management and leadership skills
- A team player. You are able to work well as part of a team in a high performance environment.
- Adaptable. Prioritising is one of your skills and you know how to keep you team calm and focused in times of change
- A good communicator. You not only build strong relationships with your stakeholders and team, you are able to lead as well as take direction when necessary
- Qualified. With a BSc degree in photography, visual arts, digital media or related field
