Modality Partnership East Surrey Division has a part time vacancy for a phlebotomist. The postholder will be a high performing Phlebotomist, working across all sites within Modality East Surrey Division and undertaking home visits also. Main duties of the job
This is a hands-on patient facing role; we are seeking individuals to join our team who are caring, compassionate and confident, who demonstrate effective communication, excellent customer service skills, good IT skills and the ability to support patients with interventions and/or queries. The post-holder will be responsible for performing venepuncture to obtain blood samples from patients only as the result of a direct referral from a GP or nurse / nurse practitioner, working strictly in accordance with specific practice guidelines and protocols. Assist and support care delivery by only undertaking delegated work that is within own level skill and competence.
You will be a key member of the practice team, ensuring that the patient is as comfortable and relaxed as possible and will collect sample(s) of blood in accordance with protocols and procedures, ensuring samples are stored in appropriate containers, accurate and legible labelling of all samples to confirm patient identity, checking patient identification against GP/nurse request and confirming with patient wherever possible, recording collection of blood sample in patient record in accordance with practice procedure, ensuring that samples are dispatched to the appropriate laboratories in a timely fashion, ensuring that anomalies are reported to a senior member of staff, notifying the clinical team of any significant patient issues and undertake training and development as required in line with the responsibilities of the post and practice policies.

· Recent previous experience in direct patient care.
