Introduction to Climate and Sustainability Services
Our Climate and Sustainability Services team delivers specialist advisory services that address society's need to respond to the climate emergency. We help our clients to avoid and reduce carbon emissions, manage climate risk and enhance the resilience of their business systems and assets as well as the communities and natural environments they operate in.
We work collaboratively with central and local government bodies, investors, non-government organisations, academia and the private business community to help shape and deliver ground-breaking research, new policies, financial models, strategies, action plans as well as governance and reporting that enable organisations to realise their sustainability commitments and aspirations.
Our experts work with teams across the globe to drive more sustainable outcomes such as improved water quality; enhanced energy and food security; high quality habitats and biodiversity rich green spaces that help ensure environmental and human health and wellbeing. Our role is to develop and bring together innovative solutions from different sectors, organisations and countries to accelerate decarbonisation, adaptation and resilience across the UKIMEA region.

This opportunity will be based in London
Right now, we're looking for graduate consultants to join our London consulting team of bright and motivated professionals. As our consulting team offers a multidisciplinary service, we are looking for graduates with diverse skills and interests to join our Environmental Assessments team.
In your first year, you will have the opportunity to spend four months in two or more of our other environmental teams namely: Waste and Resources, Atmospheric Emissions, Contaminated Land, Ecology and Biodiversity, Historic Environment and Sustainability. This will provide invaluable opportunities for professional growth including developing a diverse range of technical skills, a wide support network and a good insight into our capabilities.
From your first day you'll join an unrivalled community of experts, where you will be supported and mentored. You will be guided by a ‘buddy' who will help you to find your feet within the first few months of settling into Arup.
We take professional development seriously, with frequent internal seminars and training and also access to external national training opportunities supporting you to progress towards a professional qualification (Chartership) early in your career with us.

We are looking for individuals with a minimum 2.1 Bachelor's degree or higher degree in a relevant subject such as Public Health, Urban Planning, Social Sciences, Geography, Economics or Environmental Sciences.

This opportunity will be based in Birmingham
We are looking for a Graduate Ecologist to join our ecology team in the Midlands. Our focus is driving high quality design that achieves biodiversity net gain as part of complex development projects. We operate as part of multidisciplinary project teams working with other environmental specialists and engineering colleagues to embed biodiversity within new schemes across sectors including highways, rail, energy and flood risk management. Our clients include major public and private sector organisations that rely upon our expertise within ecological assessment, mitigation and enhancement to deliver high profile projects sustainably, both in the UK and internationally.
You will help us to deliver effective and professional ecology services across a diversity of projects. The role will be a varied mix of office and field work. You will assist with habitat and species surveys, and analyse the results to prepare clear and concise ecological reports and calculations of predicted biodiversity change.
We are looking for individuals with a Bachelor's degree or higher degree in Biology, Ecology, Zoology, Botany, Geography or Environmental Sciences (Prediction of 2.1 or higher) or equivalent.
