Jerry Pittman is hiring a Field Engineer in the Marine/Shipbuilding Industry
GENERAL FUNCTION: Performs engineering activities related to production, testing and trials. Reports to the Field Engineering Manager.
TYPICAL DUTIES: The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities.
- Provides engineering decisions on the deckplate in coordination with the functional engineering group.
- Performs field engineering activities related to production process.
- Provides details to crafts as related to production.
- Produces field sketches and material lists.
- Drafts necessary changes/revisions for review by Field Engineer Manager.
- Determines material needs related to change/revisions, fitting/outfitting and scoping impact.
- Works with crafts to review fitting/outfitting modifications and problems.
- Resolves production problems.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Accredited degree in a marine engineering discipline.
- Knowledge of shipyard production as related to engineering functions.
- Knowledge of division policies, procedures and practices.
- Ability to establish and meet goals and to maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels.
EXPERIENCE & TRAINING: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with three or more years’ experience in engineering related to the marine industry with a focus on deckplate resolution. One or more years’ drafting experience related to production or equivalent combination of experience and training which results in the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Pay: $40.00 - $45.00 per hour
