Roles & Responsibilities
- Manage large complex Operational Turnaround engagements with clients, from rapid diagnostic through to implementation and hand-over to the client
- Identify opportunities across the top-line, bottom-line and the balance sheet, and create implementation roadmaps and a compelling business case to mobilise for implementation
- Design quick-wins, process, systems and operating model changes and lead consultants and client taskforces to install, train, coach and support the organisation in achieving and sustaining the target operational and financial results
- Originate and convert opportunities by developing senior client relationships and collaborating with the KPMG value-chain
- Lead the development of thought leadership and new propositions.
- Lead, mentor, and act as role model for junior team members.
Clients:
- Take full accountability for successful delivery of multiple concurrent projects and achievement of delivery, quality and profitability targets
- Support KPMG Client Lead Partners and Business Development Executives in client meetings to ensure accurate mutual expectations and stretch thinking
- Comply with, and drive compliance of, KPMG internal processes related to risk, people, finance and service/project management
Originate & Convert:
- Play a key role in connecting the KPMG value-chain to source and convert new client opportunities, including leading on preparation of pitches and proposals
- Architect winning proposals through understanding the client’s strategic challenges, important problems, issues and concerns, and developing a differentiated proposition for KPMG
- Secure references, referrals, and repeat business opportunities on the back of successful projects
- Influence and shape clients’ view of KPMG’s Turnaround practice throughout and between projects and identify opportunities to apply KPMG capability to add further value to current and past clients
- Promote the Turnaround practice across the target market segments, via leading marketing activities and events on key Turnaround topics
Organisational leadership:
- Support and coach junior members of the team in their development and act as Performance Manager for a selection of team members
- Interview / assess new candidates to support building the Turnaround practice
- Represent the firm in an exemplary way, act as a role-model for our values and behaviours and constantly work to maintain and improve the firm’s reputation, in the market
The Person
Experience and Expertise
Essential
- Educated to at least Bachelor’s degree-level
- Fluency in English
- Demonstrable experience gained through advisory or industry (or a mix of both) with a solid track record of leading Turnaround programmes and delivering top-line, bottom-line and balance sheet improvements with large global corporates
- Extensive experience across at least one of the following areas: Sales, Finance, Cash & Working Capital, Manufacturing and Supply Chain, Procurement, Lean Six Sigma
- Highly regarded reputation and intimate understanding of at least one of the following key sectors: Automotive, Aerospace, FMCG, Retail, Industrial Manufacturing, Private Equity, Chemicals, Industrial Manufacturing, Metals & Mining, Telecommunications and Utilities
- Strong track-record in Change Management and behavioural change
Desirable
- Fluency in other languages (especially German, French, Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Portuguese)
- Comfortable with a range of analytics platforms such as PowerBI, Tableau, Qlik Sense etc.

- Understand political relationships in organisations and identify key decision makers and influencers
- Identify key trends, patterns, connections and discrepancies within complex data, ideas, events, or behaviours
- Address complex strategic issues and translate them into a series of activities that will deliver the strategic goals
- Read financial statements, undertake basic financial analysis of these statements, and understand implications for client’s operations of current financial position
- Architect compelling solutions that are cost effective and deliver financial and operational benefits for clients
