Our next Director of Sales will oversee wholesale distribution sales to our internal and 3P customers in the Northeast market, including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Maryland. This position has 3 direct reports (Territory Sales Managers), one in each State.
You will be challenged to work strategically and tactically to do develop and execute short and long-term plans to achieve sales targets.
One minute you will be on the road visiting accounts with one of your Territory Sales Managers.
The next minute partnering with internal teams to ensure we have the proper product supply to meet sales deals for the next quarter.
And the next minute providing sales updates in a meeting with senior leadership.
Regardless of the task, it’s critical you have strong situational awareness and EQ as you’ll work with diverse teams and stakeholders across the organization
Where you'll be planted:
This is a hybrid role that will be based within our Northeast territory. This role will require 25-50% travel throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Maryland. We are searching for someone local to the Greater Philadelphia area given its centralized spot in the territory.
- Developing and executing strategic plans to achieve sales targets
- Developing and launching a joint business planning program with partners
- Executing Key (and strategic) Accounts Strategy at Multi-state level
- Creating and communicating sales goals to ensure senior level executives are informed of the progress of those goals.
- Building and maintaining long-lasting, strong relationships with customers while partnering with them to better understand their business objectives and needs.
- Understanding industry-specific patterns, trends, and landscapes
- Effectively communicating value propositions through presentations and proposals.
- Reporting on forces that shift strategic directions of accounts and tactical budgets.
- Managing team of Territory Sales Managers
- Maintaining and reporting pipeline of sales to accurately forecast.
- Working closely with Marketing, Planning, and Commercial partners in order to achieve goals.
- Attending conferences/trade shows and travel to visit partners.
- Experience leading a team as a sales leader; including coaching and team development
- Cannabis experience highly preferred
- Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
- A deep understanding of the market services/products in our industry and market
- Great communication and presentation skills
- Expert level interpersonal skills
- Ability to accurately forecast sales
- Leadership skills to manage all the sales and account managers
- Strong Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and technical skills.
- Capacity to mentor and coach people
- Ability to analyze data to find trends and problems
- Ability to travel 25-50% +
