Job description

The Role


We are looking for a highly driven individual who is extremely passionate about analysing and visualising data. They will be responsible for leading a team of 2-3 data and visualisation specialists as part of digital transformation projects delivered through Clara Digital Studio.


Leading conversations on data analytics with a wide range of both technical and business stakeholders, their day to day will be working closely with our product teams to create truly exceptional data insights experiences that are closely integrated with the wider solutions we create.

The Team:


Clara Digital Studio (CDS) is a low code delivery capability hub sat within Clara. We focus on delivering cutting edge technology solutions which enable rapid digital transformation and drive change within KPMG’s Audit practice.


We place a particular emphasis on the quality of the data insights we provide as part of our delivery, which is core pillar in our success. And we are looking to expand the number of data & visualisation specialists sitting in our team.


A product-based mindset is at the core of our delivery model. Our solution teams are a truly collaborative, cross functional team of technology and business specialists. We live by solving hard problems and delivering fantastic outcomes.


Responsibilities

Experience:

  • Excelling at selecting the right type of visual and dashboard design to convey a story with data and allow business users to extract insight from their data.
  • Proven experience at design and implement consistent design patterns, palettes and layouts for dashboards and data visualisations.
  • Able to demonstrate combining strong technical and creativity skills, to come up with incredible user experiences.
  • Experience of the development lifecycle for business intelligence including the following:
  • Requirements gathering & business analysis,
  • Data modelling,
  • Delivery of infrastructure and tool implementation,
  • Application Lifecycle Management (ALM),
  • Solution design and delivery,
  • System/unit testing and user acceptance testing.
  • Agile delivery practices.


Technical competencies:

Candidates must be able to demonstrate a number, if not all, of the following skill sets through on-the-job experience:

  • Proven experience in in Microsoft Power BI.
  • Knowledge of data warehouse architecture and ETL/ELT design.
  • Good knowledge of database and data warehouse design paradigms including 3rd normal form and Kimball (star schema) dimensional modelling.
  • Experience with Azure cloud environment and components such as Azure Data Factory, Synapse and Microsoft Dataverse (Power Platform).
  • Experience of SQL and database performance optimisation.
  • Demonstrable creativity and innovation in approaching and overcoming technical challenges.
  • Aptitude for analytics and identifying patterns within data to generate business insight.
  • Data manipulation skills - manipulating and cleansing large data sets to ensure that data meets standards and objectives.
  • A desire to understand business problems and to evaluate the results in a business context.
  • Visualisation focus:
  • A confidence in delivering solutions that are both visually attractive and create a fantastic user experience is a must.
  • Advanced visualised skills would be highly desirable – for example the use of Charticulator in Power BI.


Additional skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to explain technical analysis to a non-technical audience.
  • High degree of personal motivation, ability to self-manage whilst being professional and personable.
  • Experience of solving issues and dealing with the uncertainty that can arise in project situations, including having a tenacious problem solving and can-do attitude.
