Under the direction of the ASSITANT STORE MANAGERS, responsible for providing fast, friendly and courteous customer service.
Essential Functions:
- Ensure that the guest is the #1 priority and that every guest is treated accordingly.
- Manage the first 5 Moments of Magic:
- Ensure the front entrance is pleasing.
- Welcome guests to Eckert’s
- Offer assistance in finding products
- Attend to guest’s needs in a timely manner and provided with superior service
- Invite guests back and pass out coupons/information
- Handle cash, check, credit card and gift certificate payments
- Answer customers questions and provide product information
- Bag and box merchandise
- Count money cash drawers at the beginning of the shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change
- Issue receipts, refunds, credits or change due to customers
- Redeem coupons
- Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas
- Monitor checkout stations to ensure that they have adequate cash available and that there is someone always available near the register to assist customers
- Process merchandise returns and exchanges
- Resolve customer complaints
- Weigh items sold by weight in order to determine prices
- Stock shelves and mark prices on shelves and items
- Communicate with other store staff.
- Assists with product displays
- Set up and take down of product samples on a daily basis
- Performs other duties as needed or assigned
Physical/Visual Activities or Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, stoop and crouch, push, pull, reach, grasp, feel, talk and hear.
- Generally light physical effort. The employee is required to lift more than 50 lbs. rarely and/or 5 to 25 lbs. occasionally.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include clarity of vision at a distance of 20 inches or less with the ability to judge distance and space relationships along with adjusting the eye to bring objects into sharp focus.
Environmental/Atmospheric Conditions: Environmental and atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job. Good working conditions.
Knowledge: Job requires a high school diploma or GED; previous customer service experience preferred.
Experience: Preferably 1-2 years in a retail-type setting.
